Successful Thursday
Thursdays shift went off with no problems! Got to update komu.com with breaking news. 14 Columbia residents indicted by U.S. Attorney general for gang activity. I wish I would have been able to cover the story from Jeff City, I'd like to think I could do a really good job with that. I did realize today that I love being part of the hustle bustle of a newsroom. I also learned today that the web is a crucial part of journalism, and has the power to spread information quickly and efficiently. Updating those stories is a much bigger responsibility than I had initally anticipated. I've decided to volunteer for some on air cut-ins shifts this week, but my next madatory shift is my liveshot, Wednesday morning from 2-7am. Can't wait!
First Blog!
Hello bloggers! Today was my second web producing shift at KOMU. Still trying to learn the system and get familiar with working in Avid Active Content Manager. Currently I am waiting on reporters to put information into iNews so I can start saving web images. Story idea meetings went well, we currently have two nightside reporters in the field and an additional live reporter. I'll keep you posted on how everything goes!
